It is a very difficult time for the family of a loved one. It is our goal at Saint James to make this as easy for you and possible. A parish member is honored to assist you with your preparation of this special Mass.
When deciding on the details of a Mass there are some things to consider however first and foremost is the fact that this Mass is for the family and friends as much as it is for your loved one. As such, this Mass will be unique as your family is unique.
Will you wish to have the Rosary recited before Mass? It can be said the night before however with people traveling from all over, quite often it is more convenient for the Rosary to be recited before the Mass.
Do you wish to choose the readings? The family may choose Bible passages that were favorites of your loved one. We have material to assist with making the decisions should it be needed. There are a number of ways that family and friends can partake in the Mass. If you wish to choose your readings, click here.
Do you wish to have a musician? The office can provide contact information for the musician. You may arrange with them the music to be at the Mass. They will have suggestions should you need assistance. We ask that music be hymns and not secular for the body of the Mass.
Do you need the priest to provide a graveside service? A resting place at the Saint Patrick Cemetery is available. Please contact St. Patrick Parish Office to make arrangements in advance.
Receptions can be provided, if you wish, when Mathias Hall is available. The community has individuals who would be honored to set up and clean up the reception for you. There is a suggested donation for the supplies. Food and beverage are donated.
Any questions should be directed to the St. Patrick Parish secretary if you are unable to contact Carmen. We are your ‘go to’ persons so you are free to do the many other things that are needed during this most difficult time.
